Study of functions of one and several variables including continuity, differentiation, integration, infinite series, uniform convergence, and selected topics, cont. Prerequisite: MATH 451. Offered odd years only.
OBJECTIVES:
After completing this course, the student should understand the calculus at a much deeper level, including the ability to construct proofs and to have a much better understanding of the topics listed above.
EXAMINATIONS: midterm exam: 8 Feb (Mon)

1 two-hour final: 16 Mar (2 p.m. Tue)
HOMEWORK: Assignments are due weekly on Monday at 3 p.m.

Each problem is graded out of 10 points
Late homework is deducted at the rate of twenty percent (20%) per class day late --- see me about late work due to illness.
Paper should be approximately 8.5 by 11; one or both sides may be used.
Must be neat.
Must be done in pencil to be accepted.  (Alt:  Homework typset in \TeX rewards the submitter with 2% extra credit per problem (What are you waiting for?).)
Papers are to be folded as a book with name and assignment number on the outside as illustrated.
GRADING: Homework: 30% of grade.

Midterm: 30% of grade.


Final: 40% of grade.
